During an interview with Access at the Marvel Studios panel in SDCC, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania director Peyton Reed teased that the upcoming film will change the course of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe “permanently."“No, it was… the energy was great. And yeah, kicking off Phase 5 is really exciting for us, because, we’re the Ant-Man movies,” Reed said. “It’s our third movie. It’s this trilogy now. But things happen in this movie that are going to change the Marvel Cinematic Universe permanently. And it’s fun for us that Scott Lang is at the center of that change.”It’s worth noting that before the MCU set off to Avengers: Endgame, the Earth’s mightiest heroes had to lose the battle against Thanos first in Avengers: Infinity War, which intends to set things up for the phenomenal time heist that restored the universe’s balance. Now that Phase 5 is headed to the Multiverse Saga, with Kang The Conqueror set as the next Thanos-level threat, it would make sense that Ant-Man 3’s conclusion might not be triumphant for Scott Lang’s crew. His crew might lose this time and would set things up for Kang’s return in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. The upcoming Ant-Man threequel features an ensemble cast including Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Evangeline Lily, and Kathryn Newton, with the surprising addition of Samuel L. Jackson, Bill Murray, and Jim Carrey.Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania will hit the big screens on February 17, 2023.Also read: Ant-Man 3 Star Kathryn Newton Teases Cassie Lang Making Mistakes in Quantumania
