Here’s What Happened Before Beast Tamer Episode 12
The episode opened with a few soldiers warning Stella and her knights not to enter Edgar’s mansion. Stella revealed her name and title and informed the guards that they are there to carry out an inspection. She added that Gilet was arrested because of corruption charges. After the soldiers refused to follow her orders, Kanade and Tania interjected, so the soldiers immediately alerted other soldiers. Tania and Kanade, who were surrounded by enemy soldiers, broke through the mansion’s door as Edgar watched all this unfold from his room. Edgar was thinking that his newly-acquired cursed ring would help him beat Rein. Elsewhere, Runa, Rein, and Sora were able to infiltrate the basement of the mansion in hopes of rescuing the hostages. Runa launched Material Search to teleport the hostages out of the mansion. However, Runa detected a massive magical signature underground. Rein suspected that there might be an ultimate species being held captive there as well. He asked the fairies to take care of the hostages while he looks for and rescues the ultimate species. Rein started walking into the mansion alone and ran into the ultimate species named Nina, who is a demigod. She was shocked by Rein’s presence as the latter broke into her cell and used healing magic on her. Nina was touched by Rein’s gesture and instantly embraced him. A short flashback revealed how Nina was captured by Edgar. In the present time, Nina told Rein about her situation and he decided to help her. His first attempt to remove her slave collar failed, so he used the power of his friends and managed to break the collar’s spell. Meanwhile, Stella, Kanade, Tania, and the rest of the knights were still fighting against the soldiers. They were soon joined by Runa and Sora. The fairies told them that they were able to rescue the hostages and transported them to a safer location. Kanade and Tania were relieved as they continued to beat the soldiers. In the meantime, Edgar was trying to convince his father that he will take care of the mess by himself. In the foyer area, Rein was seen carrying Nina on his back as he regrouped with Stella and the others. Suddenly, Edgar’s father appeared and Stella ordered him to surrender. However, he refused and was eventually captured by Rein. Edgar appeared and used the ring he got from Arios to summon a Reaper that stabbed Rein in the chest with its scythe. Meanwhile, Arios, who was standing on top of the mansion’s roof, was delighted that Rein was dead. Arios then disappeared while Rein got revived and was seemingly unharmed after the deadly attack. Sora stated that Rein was hit by an instant death spell, but surprisingly, it didn’t affect him. Runa then cast a poison affliction spell on him but it failed to work. They concluded that Rein was immune to any kind of status-effect magic. Elsewhere, Edgar was watching Rein and his party from the second floor. He was upset that a noble like him failed against Rein. He refused to accept the outcome, and during that time, an ominous energy emerged from the ring and enveloped him. The episode concluded with Edgar transforming into a demon.
