Recently, fans have noted that while the new Bleach anime is available on Disney’s streaming platform in some European countries, many regions in mainland Europe currently cannot watch the show.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Disney+ Release
Thousand-Year Blood War is an anime series by Pierrot that’s based on the final arc of the manga of the same name by Tite Kubo. The manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from August 2001 to August 2016. Specifically, this anime is an adaptation of the Thousand-Year Blood War storyline which serves as the manga’s final arc and takes place between Volumes 55 to 74. For reference, the original Bleach TV anime by Pierrot ran from October 2004 to March 2012. While it was over 300 episodes long, it did not have a proper conclusion as it ended before the manga was finished.
It’s fair to say that this is one of the most anticipated anime of the season. Many fans were worried that the series won’t get a simulcast at all outside Japan, but fans were relieved when VIZ Media announced that the series will simulcast in the US on Hulu and internationally through Disney+. However, it seems that the show is not available worldwide as both anime fans in Latin America and Europe are unable to watch the show.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Disney+ Europe Availability
Specifically, European fans on Reddit noted that the show is not available in lots of European countries, including Norway and other mainland European areas. This is based on a fan’s chat with a Disney+ customer service representative. There, it was acknowledged that Disney+ has received several inquiries already regarding Bleach. Some countries in Europe have access to the series. There have been reports in another Reddit thread that the anime is available in the UK and Ireland. Sadly, Thousand-Year Blood War seems to be a Disney+ exclusive, meaning fans in many European countries don’t have a way to legally watch the series at the moment.
