Director Adil El Arbi just released on an Instagram story a never-before-seen behind-the-scenes image of Leslie Grace as Batgirl/ Barbara Gordon face-to-face with Michael Keaton reprising his role as Batman/ Bruce Wayne with the director in the middle.
Directors Adil El Arbi and Billal Fallah released their statement on the shocking and saddening news of Batgirl’s cancellation on Instagram, “As directors, it is critical that our work be shown to audiences, and while the film was far from finished, we wish that fans all over the world would have the opportunity to see and embrace the final film themselves.”
While it is still unknown whether Leslie Grace would be appearing as Batgirl in other DC films on Warner Bros., Michael Keaton is still set to reprise his role as Batman/ Bruce Wayne in the upcoming The Flash movie starring Ezra Miller.

Earlier this week, the world was shocked to hear Warner Bros. officially canceled Batgirl as per the report from Variety, it was canceled not because of its quality nor the makers of the movie but because the studio preferred to have a blockbuster scale for the whole DC slate.
The fans of Batgirl took it online to try and convince Warner Bros. to release the film with the hashtags #SaveTheBatgirlMovie and #ReleaseTheBatgirl Movie. However, their efforts are still floating in the waters as the studio holds their position about the movie.
After the cancellation of Batgirl, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. Discovery’s DC Films drops an update for the DCEU franchise having a 10-year-plan which is yet to be released to the public.
Leslie Grace was supposed to lead a star-studded cast as Batgirl with J.K. Simmons as James Gordon, Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/ Batman, Ivory Aquino as Alysia Yeoh, Jacob Scipio as Anthony Bressi, and Brendan Fraser as Ted Carson/ Firefly.
Batgirl was supposed to release this year via HBO Max.
