The new promo video (PV) for the latest volume was released on the official Jump Comics YouTube channel and shared on the Chainsaw Man Twitter account. This new video’s style is similar to previous volume PVs as it features animated manga panels and a distinct soundtrack. Check it out here:
Chainsaw Man manga PVs are always a treat for fans as they offer great visuals and music that perfectly capture the energy of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga. These videos are popular enough that the Volume 9 preview video is the most-viewed video on the Shonen Jump YouTube channel. Volume 12 of the manga is the first compilation featuring chapters from Chainsaw Man Part 2. In case you need a refresher, the manga initially ran from December 2018 to December 2020 on Weekly Shonen Jump. After a year and a half, Fujimoto’s popular manga returned in July 2022, this time in Jump+.
Its return was highly anticipated, enough that the first chapter of Part 2 got over 3 million views in under 24 hours. While the first part centered around Denji, Part 2 introduced a new major character in Asa Mitaka. In the events of Chapter 98, Asa encounters and is possessed by the War Devil. Instead of losing herself, Asa retains her personality, but she now shares her body with the War Devil who is called by the name Yoru. It was soon revealed that Yoru is looking to get back nuclear weapons from Chainsaw Man.
The Chainsaw Man Volume 12 promo video shows off the highlight moments in Part 2’s first six chapters. While Asa takes center stage first, Yoru makes an appearance halfway through the video. While Denji does reappear in the manga after a couple of chapters, it seems that Asa and Yoru will be the protagonists in Part 2, at least based on the events of the manga so far. It’s also possible that the story will switch between Denji and Asa/Yoru from time to time. Upon the video’s release, it was met with acclaim from fans as many enjoyed the animation and the music of the new promo. Chainsaw Man Volume 12 is available starting today in Japan. Right now, there’s no word yet on when it will be released in English. Read More: Everything You Need to Know About the Chainsaw Man Anime
