According to a recent report from Murphy’s Multiverse, The Flight Attendant star Colin Woodell has joined the cast of Daredevil: Born Again. As usual, there were no details about the role that he will be playing in the series, but they reported that he signed a one-and-done contract. Woodell’s casting was revealed as part of the outlet’s report regarding Marvel Studios’ plans to do multiple seasons of Daredevil: Born Again as they heard from sources that Gandolfini signed a deal that contains options for future seasons and appearances in other MCU projects. So far, neither Marvel Studios nor the major trades have confirmed the actor’s casting in the series yet so we have to take it with a grain of salt for now although the outlet has provided accurate scoops in the past so there is a likelihood that it ends up being true.
Besides starring in The Flight Attendant, Woodell is also known for his roles in TV shows such as Devious Maids, Masters of Sex, Designated Survivor, and The Purge. He is set as the lead of the upcoming John Wick prequel series The Continental as the young Winston Scott. He also appeared recently in the Michael Bay film Ambulance. It is always exciting to hear whenever a talented actor like Woodell gets cast in an MCU project. While we have no idea about his role, it sounds like he will be pivotal for the first season of the series at the very least as hinted by the nature of his deal. It’s interesting to see whether he will be playing an antagonist or he will be on Matt Murdock’s side. Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are confirmed to star. Matt Corman and Chris Ord serve as the head writers of the new series. Production will reportedly begin in February 2023 in New York City. The first season is expected to run for 18 episodes.
