Showrunner Teases New Set of Heroes in Future Doom Patrol Seasons
In an interview with ScreenRant, Carver revealed if the current heroes’ line-up would eventually change as the show continues. For starters, the show’s source material, the comics, have featured various iterations of the group, and different characters have been part of the Doom Patrol. Of course, I can; in the future, yeah!”
A New Permanent Hero
Doom Patrol Season 4 introduced a new hero, Casey Brinke (Madeline Zima), a.k.a. Space Casey. Her arrival may mean she will be a new hero in the show until the current season ends. Knowing the series is ensemble-driven, it’s normal that the line-up will change in future seasons. YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE: Chicago Fire Season 11: How Will this Villain’s Return Affect the Series? Cliff’s Journey in Doom Patrol Season 4
Meanwhile, Carver also discussed Cliff/Robotman’s (Brendan Fraser) newfound ability to feel, though it doesn’t go the way he wants it to. “He immediately decided that the first thing he wants to feel is his grandson, Rory. And that sort of stands in for what has been a very long arc for Cliff, which is family comes first … which Cliff hasn’t always done," he explained to ComicBook. “So, it’s this sort of elusive sort of goal that he puts even more pressure upon himself because now he’s got this oven mitt over his hand, which prevents him from touching anything, but this sort of elusive notion of touching his grandson, Rory, which again, comes crashing down when he finds himself touching something entirely different than he expected in a way that he never expected,” he continued. “It brings in a sharp relief, his own monstrosity. And in doing so, that weirdly pushes the goal of seeing his grandson even further away because what kind of monster deserves to see his grandson?"
