Before Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot played small roles on various films and when she landed the role, it was nine years ago when Warner Bros. announced that Gal Gadot will be donning the title of DCU’s (former DCEU) Diana Prince a.k.a. Wonder Woman. On the 9th anniversary of the announcement, Gal Gadot shared on Twitter her reflection after being cast as Wonder Woman as she thanks the people who supported her in her journey to being the hero and she shows her excitement, too, on what comes next for Wonder Woman. Gal Gadot first appeared as Wonder Woman in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016, before starring in her own titular movie which shown her origins in Wonder Woman in 2017. Her character remains to be one of the most well-known heroes of the DCU, and her future continues.

Even when Wonder Woman 1984 has been bombed with its box office returns, it could be quite excused given that it released in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, there’s still an upcoming Wonder Woman 3 with Patty Jenkins coming back to write and direct. Warner Bros. Discovery is still set to distribute Wonder Woman 3 under the DCU, now under the leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran. In October this year, Jenkins shared that the script of Wonder Woman 3 is already done and under review. Gal Gadot confirms her return as Wonder Woman and she previously teased that Wonder Woman 3 will be set in the present unlike Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984 which both happened in the past. Happy 9th anniversary as Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot! Wonder Woman 3 has no release date yet.
