Is Reze Dead in Chainsaw Man?
In Chainsaw Man, Reze is not yet dead. However, Reze’s current whereabouts are not known as of writing. In fact, Reze has not appeared in the series since Chapter 94 of the Chainsaw Man manga and even after the War Devil made his debut. Reze’s life changed and everything went wrong after she revealed her true identity as the Bomb Devil to Denji. Reze not only failed to steal Denji’s heart but she was also duped by the Control Devil herself, Makima. Unbeknownst to Denji, Makima had stopped Reze from seeing him in the café where they usually hang out. She was supposed to meet Denji to accept his offer to run away from the mess they had made, but she didn’t show up. Reze was almost there, but Makima’s swarm of rats surrounded her in an instant. Not only that, but Reze had to deal with the spear thrown at her by the Angel Devil, leaving her injured and helpless. Because of their televised fight in the International Assassins Arc, Reze helped Denji gain fame and influence around the world, as revealed by Makima. Reze next appeared in the Control Devil Arc, where Makima summoned her as one of her Weapon Hybrids to fight and kill Denji. While Denji was successful in defeating Makima, the Weapon Hybrids survived even after Denji dismembered all of them. After all, they are immortal because they are hybrids, like Denji. Unfortunately, there is no update about Reze following Denji’s last confrontation with Makima. As of writing, it is also uncertain whether she will be able to recover from Makima’s control and manipulation abilities. Because of this, some fans assume that Reze is still alive and living with the other Weapon Hybrids in Kishibe’s care. Will Reze Return in Chainsaw Man Part 2?
It is uncertain whether Reze will return in Chainsaw Man Part 2. However, because Part 2 is mostly set at Denji’s school, there’s still a chance she’ll return. Reze was one of the first people to notice that Denji couldn’t read or write. In fact, Reze persuaded him to enroll in a night school where they could study together. Now that Denji is in a proper school, there’s a chance that Reze will show up unexpectedly to check on him. Nonetheless, it’s difficult to predict when or how Reze will appear in Chainsaw Man Part 2.
