Recently, a fan asked director James Gunn on Twitter about the placement of the Guardians of the Holiday Special in the MCU line-up and he responded that the upcoming special is the epilogue of Phase Four.
During the Hall H panel, Kevin Feige declared Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as the last entry in Phase Four. Now, it looks like we have the confirmation that the upcoming special is still technically part of the ongoing phase and is also the bridge between Phase Four and Phase Five.
Ever since the presentation, there are fans who have been wondering about the status of some of the MCU projects that were mentioned such as this special and Armor Wars, which was later on clarified by the head writer that is still happening. The special has already finished filming a few months ago alongside Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
It is great to hear that we now have the confirmation on the special’s placement in the MCU since it was notably absent in the official line-up and there are also fans who have been anticipating it since it is their appetizer before the third film early next year. There is a possibility that they will release a trailer at D23 Expo this September.
