As reported by The Direct, director James Gunn debunked through the comments in an Instagram post that singer-actress Lady Gaga is voicing Lylla in the film. He confirmed it after responding to a fan question that asked whether the actress who voices the role starts with “Ga” and ends with “Ga.” However, Gunn didn’t specify the actual name of the actress who is going to voice the character in the film, but at the very least, we can cross off the Grammy and Oscar winner’s name from the list. Prior to this, there were speculations that Gaga is voicing Lylla in her film since she previously worked with Bradley Cooper, who voices Rocket Raccoon, in A Star is Born and there are assumptions that their successful pairing in the film would lead to a collaboration in the MCU.
Now that Gaga has been crossed off the list, we can continue to speculate which actress they cast to voice the role. Based on the castings that we know so far, The Suicide Squad star Daniela Melchior sounds like the strongest possibility since her role has not been confirmed yet. For now, let’s just wait and see whether this is actually the case or if it’s yet again another name. The film’s synopsis reads: “Our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.” The cast includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Will Poulter, Elizabeth Debicki, Sylvester Stallone, Chukwudi Iwuji, Sean Gunn, and Maria Bakalova.
