The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to be an ever-expanding franchise and that’s no surprise considering that the Marvel comics are teeming with characters. With the X-Men possibly arriving real soon in the MCU, who among the cast of the X-Men would be reprising their roles? Hugh Jackman is sure to be back in Deadpool 3 as Wolverine, and a few months ago, in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Patrick Stewart reprised his role as Professor X but will his younger version, James McAvoy be back for the character in the MCU? Here’s what McAvoy has to say. In an interview with GQ, when asked whether he got the call to be back as Professor X in the MCU, James McAvoy said, “I’ve definitely not got the call. And if I did I would definitely not be telling you.” McAvoy even reminisced about the time he played Professor X, “It was one of the most positive experiences I’ve had with a studio. I don’t really [see them as just] money gigs. Days of Future Past I think is one of the better films that I’ve been involved in.”

James McAvoy played Professor X in 2011 starting from X-Men: First Class, then he returned for X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse, Deadpool 2, and Dark Phoenix where his tenure as Charles Xavier ended. The Marvel Cinematic Universe, through various projects, already hinted that the mutants are soon to arrive in the franchise and it is only a matter of time when the X-Men would be joining the vast characters of one of the most successful franchises in the world, to date. There’s that tease with Kamala Khan having a mutation, possibly being a mutant in Ms. Marvel, then the various Easter eggs about Wolverine and other mutants in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, and most recently, the arrival of Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. As the multiverse opens doors of possibilities, the X-Men is finally MCU bound and all it will take is a few years before they enter the franchise and make their presence known.
