Recently, he was once again under fire after revealing his preference when it comes to the women he dates. Speaking with GQ Hype, Boyega claims that his dating circle is pretty exclusive, saying that he only dates Black women. He explains: “I only date black, then it’s about chemistry, personality, goals. Is there a synergy? Can I help you? Can you help me?“The Woman King star continued: “I’m very disciplined in the type of women I speak to. They don’t want you in their business. Being in the public eye, they would prefer if you had the wife and family. It’s the ultimate PR package.““But my parents have been together for 35 years. There’s nothing that this world can do in terms of pressure to make me be inspired by anything else but my parents.“Unsurprisingly, Boyega drew flak for his statement but when one fan tried putting some malice into what he said to stir further controversy, the 30-year-old British-Nigerian actor quickly clapped back and said his preference shouldn’t be a subject of discourse. He responded: “When they talk about preferring brunettes or blondes they’re not talking about a wig. My preference is not a topic for debate.” The original tweet from user @RyansUFCpage has been taken down but you can check out a screenshot of it below: Also Read: John Boyega Says Hollywood Won’t Make Him James Bond Because He’s BlackI mean, I totally understand that Boyega’s personal life is an open book given his celebrity status but that doesn’t mean that he has to explain himself about matters concerning his private life.Meanwhile, Disney’s Star Wars sequel trilogy is available for streaming on Disney+.
