The Neo-Noir franchise has been consistent in delivering visually gripping action sequences. In every chapter, the story builds toward tracing John Wick’s (Keanu Reeves) roots, which started in Chapter 3 when his old ally, Sofia, was introduced.
Now, the fans can begin to wonder more about John’s mysterious family, as the director himself, Chad Stahelski, has verified that the film will feature John Wick’s stepsister.
The Collider’s EIC initially asked Stahelski if the woman in the trailer was John’s mother, as he described a woman near the box on fire with the glowy thing, but the director quickly denied.
He did, however, confirm that it’s another member of the family, “I would say in the familial zone, like a stepsister. I wouldn’t call her a stepsister but in the zone of that, yeah. It’s his former family, yes.”
Not shying away from the reason why everyone in the film became assassins, it is safe to assume that John’s stepsister might also be a product of the Ballerina training program.
The interview with the director also managed to dive into discussion about whether the upcoming fourth installment will be the longest of all the movies.

“It has the longest runtime of all the movies. Hopefully, it won’t feel the longest of all the movies.” teased Stahelski.
The filmmaker couldn’t disclose the exact running time of the movie as he hasn’t given the studio the overall number yet.
Additionally, according to Stahelski, John Wick: Chapter 4 is still a working title.
He said, “It’s a work in progress right now. We’re trying to find the right theme, and hopefully it’ll work out the way we thought. I don’t want to give it away, but yeah, it’s a working title. We still have the proper title to come out yet.”
John Wick 4 is to arrive on March 24, 2023.
