It has been bringing K-pop idols to different countries since 2012 after Koreaboo launched the convention with the help of CJ E&M’s Mnet America. The first KCON was held at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, California, presenting EXO-M, NU’EST, VIXX, BAP, 4Minute, and G.NA performed in front of 20,000 people. This year, it will also visit Saudi Arabia to share K-pop music with the country through different artists. KCON 2022 in Saudi Arabia Dates + Line-up
On Sunday, CJ ENM officially confirmed the arrival of the Korean cultural festival in Saudi Arabia. The poster, shared by Korea JoongAng Daily, confirmed the first-ever KCON in Saudi Arabia since the convention started in 2012. The record-breaking event will be held on September 30 and October 1 at Boulevard Riyadh City, where the hottest South Korean groups and artists will be performing. KCON 2022 Los Angeles Welcomed 90,000 Attendees
Before the KCON 2022 Saudi Arabia happened, KCON 2022 Los Angeles also had 90,000 concertgoers during the recently wrapped-up five-day concerts. According to Billboard, the KCON 2022 Los Angeles gathered fans for three days at the Los Angeles Convention Center and two days in the Crypto.com Arena. Aside from the 90,000 attendees, the live stream events also had over 7.17 million viewers in more than 176 regions. It saw a slight dip from 103,000 fans in 2019, though. However, the 2022 event set a promising record amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Amber Liu, Kevin Woo and Alex Reid opened the three convention days.
