Speaking recently with Variety, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige gave a promising update on Olsen’s next step in the MCU. While he didn’t give out any specific details on the projects that she’ll appear in next, he did note that there are still a lot of things that they have to explore with the character. “She’s incredibly humble and incredibly down-to-earth. And yet when those cameras roll, it’s a force of nature,” Feige said. “There really is so much more to explore [with Wanda]. We still haven’t touched on many of her core storylines from the comics.”
When asked about the rubbles that seemingly crushed Wanda at the end of the recent Doctor Strange sequel, Feige gave a more teasing tone in his response, “I don’t know that we saw her under rubble? I saw a tower coming down, and a little red flash. I don’t know what that means.” In other words, it sounds like Feige is pretty much saying that since we didn’t see any corpse during that moment, it does indicate that Wanda Maximoff is still alive somewhere in the MCU and we’re going to see her again in the future. It is exciting to hear the affirmation from Feige that Olsen’s turn in the MCU is far from over and basically confirmed that they still have a lot of plans for the character despite what the film hinted at the end. It is curious to see which upcoming project she’ll appear next and what she’ll do in the aftermath of the events of the film.
