Recently, a new collection of merch was shared on the LycoReco official Twitter, including acrylic boards, acrylic mascots, and a pin badge. Though the highlight of the new collection is a boxers-shaped multi-clear case. Need some context? The clear boxers case is a reference to one of the funny events of episode 4 (minor spoilers ahead). In the episode, Chisato discovers that Takina wears men’s-style boxers as her undergarments of choice for being “breathable” and “easy to move in”. Because of this, Chisato takes Takina out to shop for more girly underwear. This moment in the episode proved to be a funny one for the show’s viewers, at least based on the discussion threads about it online. So, it’s not too much of a surprise to see some boxers-inspired merch for the show. The new merch boxers clear case is priced at JPY 1,600 (around USD 12). Meanwhile, the acrylic boards are priced at JPY 2,200 (around USD 16) each, the acrylic mascots at JPY 1,500 (around USD 11) each, and the pin badges at JPY 650 (around USD 4). Lycoris Recoil is an original anime series by A-1 Pictures that’s directed by Shingo Adachi and written by Asaura. The series stars Chika Anzai as Chisato Nishikigi and Shion Wakayama as Takina Inoue. The series follows Takina, a serious member of the all-female group of assassins and spies called Lycoris. After being sanctioned for disobeying orders, Takina is assigned to work under the carefree agent Chisato who works in an agency branch that is disguised as a café. Takina and Chisato are almost opposites in terms of personality, but Takina must get along with Chisato if she wants to get her old position back. The series releases every week on Crunchyroll.
