The new One Piece movie characters are Yorueka and Romy, both of whom are big fans of the film’s main star, Uta. The first of the new characters is Yorueka, a shepherd who has traveled from a faraway place to watch Uta’s concert. Voicing Yorueka is veteran voice actor, Kaji Yuki whom you may know as the voice of many iconic characters. Kaji Yuki is the voice of Eren Yeager in Attack on Titan, Shouto Todoroki in My Hero Academia, Kenma Kozume in Haikyu, and Nishikata in Teasing Master Takagi-san. Romy is a small girl that massive fan of Uta. She sports half-red and half-blonde hair that’s styled in pigtails. She also wears a raggedy, patched-up dress along with a red shoulder bag. Voicing Romy is a 12-year-old child actor, Chise Niitsu. She is the eldest daughter of renowned anime film director Makoto Shinkai (Your Name, Weathering With You, and Suzume no Tojimari). Romy in the One Piece movie isn’t Nitsu’s first anime role as she also voiced the Young Kanna in Child of Kamiari Month. Though Niitsu is known more for her roles in live-action dramas and movies. Some of her credits include the Sangatsu no Lion movie, and The Way of the Househusband live-action TV series. Along with the reveal of these new characters, a short trailer was released that shows Yorueka and Romy, along with other new characters. One Piece Film: Red is the fifteenth movie in the One Piece series, and it will star Luffy along with the rest of the Straw Hat crew. Joining them is a new character named Uta, a popular singer who is also the daughter of Shanks. The new One Piece movie will release in Japanese cinemas on August 6, 2022. A Fall 2022 release is scheduled in cinemas outside Japan.
