The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau told fans at the con that they can expect each week of Season 3 to offer an unexpected discovery since its scope has become bigger than ever, with space battles and more Mandalorians.
“Not everything is going to be a big surprise but each week should have something unexpected happening… Hopefully each week will be like opening a Christmas present, with new surprises,” said Favreau.
The recently released trailer shows it was “loaded with action and new locations.” The season will also see the title character and his adopted son Grogu arrive on Mandalore, as Collider’s Steven Weintraub pointed out.
It’s still up for discussion how many seasons the Mandalorians will have to battle in space, but actor Katee Sackhoff, who plays Bo-Katan Kryze, recently revealed that show creators Favreau and Dave Filoni already have something of an idea.
“The good thing with Dave and Jon is that they’re constantly expanding this world, and I don’t think that Star Wars fans will be lacking for content any time soon,” she commented.
The trailer also provides a quick glimpse of Coruscant, monkey lizards, and teases several Mandolorians working together, as well as Grogu, who has some new skills to show off concerning the Force.
Following the conclusion of Andor in November, season 3 of The Mandalorian will fill the slot of the live-action Star Wars program on Disney+. On the other hand, an animated program, Star Wars: The Bad Batch, is also scheduled in January.
Seasons 1 and 2 of The Mandalorian are currently available to stream on Disney+.
