The official Netflix Japan Twitter account confirmed the news, sharing the iconic key visual featuring Denji. The tweet reveals that Chainsaw Man will be made available on the streamer starting October 13, 2022, two days after its initial premiere date. This is great news for fans who have no access to TV Tokyo. It also means that Chainsaw Man will be reaching a wider audience when it finally premieres next month.
Although the official broadcast isn’t until October, Chainsaw Man is set for a special premiere event later this month. The event takes place at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills on September 19, 2022. 300 people will be chosen to attend the screening where the first episode will be viewed. The screening is also said to feature the main cast which means that Kikunosuke Toya (Denji), Tomori Kusunoki (Makima), Shogo Sakata (Aki Hayakawa), and Fairouz Ai (Power) could be in attendance. Chainsaw Man is based on the manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto and follows Denji, a young man living in poverty and working off his deceased father’s debt to the yakuza by working as a devil hunter. He is aided by Pochita, his canine companion and Chainsaw Devil. But when Denji is betrayed by the Yakuza and left for dead, he merges with Pochita and becomes a human-devil Hybrid. After Denji massacres the yakuza, he is approached by Makima who convinces him to join a team of governmental devil hunters known as the Public Safety Division. The anime will have its special premiere event on September 19, 2022. Chainsaw Man premieres on TV Tokyo on October 12, 2022, at 12:00 AM JST.
