Netflix recently released Troll on December 1st and just two weeks after it came out, it now holds the throne as the most popular non-English film on the streaming platform having a total of 128 million hours viewed and it is still counting. Among 93 countries, Troll belongs to the Netflix Top 10 like in Norway, where the film is from, France, Japan, Germany, South Korea, Brazil, Mexico, UK, and US. This made Troll secure its spot as the most popular popular non-English film on Netflix. Troll follows the mythological titular creature which was awakened following a construction of a tunnel through the mountains of Dovre. The troll posed a huge threat to the national security of Norway that they had to call in various scientists and experts like the main character, Nora Tidemann.

Nora Tidemann grew up with the stories of legends and myths from her father, Tobias, whom she went on various adventures with when she was younger that sometimes it is not “to see is to believe,” but rather, “to believe is to see,” which opened Nora’s eyes into the unknown. She lost touch with her father, Tobias, who became so much drawn into the myths and legends that he almost went insane, but the emergence of the troll has brought the father and daughter together once more in another adventure while they try to save the country. Directed by Roar Uthaug, written by Espen Aukan, produced by Espen Horn and Kristian Strand Sinkerud, Troll stars Ine Marie Wilmann as Nora Tidemann, Kim Falck as Andreas Isaksen, Mads Sjøgård Pettersen as Captain Kristoffer Holm, Gard B. Eidsvold as Tobias Tidemann, and Anneke von der Lippe as Prime Minister Berit Moberg, among others. Troll is currently available to stream on Netflix.
