The trailer gave us a full look at Ortega as the iconic Wednesday Addams and her “kooky” journey as she enrolls in the peculiar Nevermore Academy. We also saw quick glimpses at Oscar winner Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams and Luis Guzman as Gomez Addams, who seem to be supportive of their daughter’s move to a new school, as well as The Sandman star Gwendoline Christie as Principal Larissa Weems.

Based on the footage that they showed, the series looks promising and there are a lot of elements that are reminiscent of The Addams Family that we know and love from its films in the ’90s and the original show back in the ’60s. Ortega also proved that she is a great choice for the role as we see her channeling the character.
However, one notable cast member who is missing in the trailer is Christina Ricci, who played Wednesday Addams in the ’90s films and is expected to have a major role in the series. Maybe we’ll see a glimpse of her in the second trailer that they’ll release.
The series is “a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.”
The cast also includes Isaac Ordonez, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Percy Hynes White, Hunter Doohan, Georgie Farmer, Moosa Mostafa, Emma Myers, Naomi J. Ogawa, Joy Sunday, Victor Dorobantu, and George Burcea. Tim Burton serves as executive producer and directed four episodes of the first season.
