NieR:Automata Ver1.1a Trailer
The new trailer is a short preview featuring the YoRHa Commander who is voiced by Chiaki Kano, the voice actress who also voiced the character in the game. In case you’re unfamiliar, NieR:Automata is a video game by Square Enix that was directed by Yoko Taro and released initially in early 2017. This upcoming anime is an adaptation of the said game, and it is being made by A-1 Pictures. The upcoming anime is officially entitled NieR:Automata Ver1.1a and is expected to be a straight adaptation of the game, though there’s no official word yet on what the game’s story will be. Because of this, there might be some differences in the anime’s story compared to the source material. NieR:Automata is set in the far future where humanity has been long gone from Earth. The game serves as a distant sequel to Yoko Taro’s first NieR game, which is itself a spin-off/sequel to his Drakengard series. The game is specifically set in the year 11945 AD, and it follows 2B and 9S, two YoRHa androids that were made by humans. In the game’s world, YoRHa androids are in a proxy war with machine invaders from another world. YoRHa’s goal is to eradicate the machines from Earth. Once this is done, surviving humans who have hidden on the moon will return to the planet.
