Speaking with ET Online after the release of the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailer, Rudd acknowledges he is aware of the ‘Thanus’ theory and that fans called it a ‘missed opportunity.’ He jokingly suggests, “I guess you’ll just have to see the next one.” Read his full comment below:
Paul Rudd debuted as Ant-Man back in 2015 in a movie bearing the same title as his hero’s name. In the film, he stole the Ant-Man suit to save his daughter Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Lang from a heart condition. Soon, he had to take on a full-time career working for Hank Pym, where Scott Lang’s path as Ant-Man began. Scott Lang had also been featured in Captain America: Civil War after being recruited by Anthony Mackie’s Falcon to help Captain America against Tony Stark.
With Thanos out of the picture, Kang is set to conquer the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the ‘new big bad.’ In the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailer, Kang was shown to be inside the quantum realm with a cryptic message to Ant-Man, seemingly offering a valuable exchange to save their life. Even Shang-Chi’s Simu Liu seems to think the MCU is f— up with Kang taking the wheel.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set to be released on February 17, 2023.
