Ncuti Gatwa, Laurie Nunn Confirm Return to Sex Education Season 4
Variety confirmed the return of Gatwa in Sex Education Season 4 to reprise his role as Otis’ (Asa Butterfield) BFF Eric Effiong. The show’s creator, writer and executive producer Nunn would also be back to do the fourth season of the series. Many thought Gatwa would also leave the show after being cast as the new Doctor Who before the BAFTA TV awards in May. It will be written by It’s a Sin showrunner Russell T. Davies, who rebooted the show in 2003 after its seven-year hiatus. Thankfully, “some canny scheduling” gave the 29-year-old star a chance to appear in the two series. Sex Education Season 4 is set to start its production this fall. Aside from Sex Education and Doctor Who, Gatwa will also be part of the highly-anticipated Barbie movie, featuring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Barbie and Ken. Sex Education Season 4 Character Exits
Sex Education Season 4 sees major stars exiting one after another; the latest is Rakhee Thakrar. She played the role of English Teacher Emily Sands in the past three seasons and it was already the last time fans saw her in the series. The Radio Times U.K. broke the news about Thakrar’s departure from the show, as confirmed by an interview with The Daily Star. However, the actress didn’t reveal the reason for her exit. She said, Simone Ashley, Patricia Allison and Tanya Reynolds also earlier revealed they wouldn’t be part of Sex Education Season 4. She explained, Allison also confirmed she wouldn’t return to Sex Education Season 4, saying, Lastly, Ashley said she’s now a Bridgerton girl, so she would no longer be part of the series.
