While Gunn did confirm that there’s plenty of room for other major characters for his DC plans, he had failed to mention of anything about a Lex Luthor. However, Smallville star Rosenbaum replied to a fan who suggested Michael Rooker be included in the project, letting it be known publicly that he, too, is interested in lining up for his potential return to the role. Check out their conversation below:
The tweet reads: “I hope I’d be in the running. I mean, I did play him [Lex Luthor] for 7 years. Unless you guys would have a problem with that.”
Thanks to Rosenbaum, his tweeted reply has called out the attention of fans, completely in agreement that he is the only worthy actor for the role, deeming him the ‘best’ Lex Luthor. Check out the fan reactions below:
Michael Rosenbaum’s portrayal of Lex Luthor in Smallville remains top-notch as today’s fans continue to root for his return to the screen. In the CW series, Lex Luthor is a rather complicated comrade slash villain of Tom Welling’s Clark Kent in a town called Smallville. Rosenbaum’s depiction of Lex made the character more complex than he appears to be, especially given how his morals contradict with Clark’s, and yet at the same time, found Clark to be one of the only people he could trust in his life. It would be amazing to see this Lex Luthor version again in the DC Universe this time.
