Based on the information we have about the series, there were some minor changes such as newer characters presented and, with Flanagan taking the helm, some valuable lessons that take us deeper into the psyche of the series. The show followed the same foundational storyline as the book, we will see young teenagers who are living in a hospice. They all suffered from different incurable diseases and are trying their best to get through whatever remaining time they have alive. They form friendships, build relationships, and have spooky fun together as they make a deal that may or may not be their collective attempt to come to terms with death.
