WB and DC Films have been conspicuously silent regarding the rumors which only fueled speculation about the British star’s potential comeback as the Man of Steel. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s previous statement on social media only added to the speculation after he teased Black Adam’s titanic clash with Kal-El. Well, it turns out that none of the rumors were actually true as Cavill no-showed the SDCC panel. During the Black Adam presentation, Johnson dashed the fandom’s collective hopes when it turned out that he himself isn’t sure which Superman the Man in Black will end up going head-to-head with. As frustrating as it is, I think it’s time for the DCEU fandom to finally come to terms with the unfortunate end of his Superman tenure.
