Potter shared with the Looper that he thinks Cavill is the perfect choice for the Titans’ approach to Superman. Given that since Season 1, the Man of Steel has only been mentioned but has yet to grace the screen.
“It’s hard to top [Henry] Cavill. He’s such a perfect Superman and — spoiler alert for the DC Universe fans — he’s back. I don’t think there’s a better candidate than Cavill.” answered Potter when asked who should play the show’s version of Superman.
Cavill’s recent cameo in Black Adam hinted at a potential Man of Steel 2. With the actor confirming his return, DC fans are not resting on their laurels in speculating where he may appear next.
Titans, after its current Season 4 run, may be able to bring in the Man of Steel if the Titans characters make their way into the DC Universe proper.
In the opening episode of season 4 this year, the squad journeyed to Metropolis, where Conner Kent, played by Joshua Orpin, was presented with the chance to meet with Superman.
Potter also expressed his interest in joining the MCU or Star Wars franchises, saying he was all for fancasting and pop culture blockbusters.
He noted, “I would absolutely love to. I had this conversation with a couple [of] people in the comic book community not two weeks ago as to who else I could play. I don’t know if the comic book world is where I want my next project to be, but I definitely don’t see myself ever fully leaving it. I’m fully here for the fan castings and the potential comic book and pop culture blockbusters.”
Titans, an animated television series based on the Teen Titans comic book superhero team, had its initial appearance in 2018 on the previous DC Universe streaming service before moving to HBO Max for Season 3.
Titans Season 4 streams new episodes weekly on HBO Max.
