According to reporter Jeff Sneider in his The Hot Mic podcast, Holland has signed a new deal with Sony and Marvel Studios to continue playing Spider-Man in the MCU. The actor’s official return has been rumored in the past couple of days by various sites and alleged insiders. Sneider claimed that part of Holland’s new deal is another set of a trilogy for his solo Spider-Man movies. However, he also stated that he cannot confirm his scoop yet since he didn’t receive any response or comment from Marvel Studios on whether it is official.
Considering the huge success of his solo films, it seems inevitable at this point for Holland to sign a new deal to continue playing the role in more projects and it would have been more shocking if it didn’t happen. In this case, at least we have what seems to be a confirmation that he is indeed going to return to the MCU. Neither Marvel Studios nor the major trades have also confirmed this information yet so we still have to take it with a grain of salt for now. However, Sneider has reported a lot of accurate scoops in the past so there is a strong likelihood that this is true. Now, it’s just a matter of when and where will Holland make his official return to the MCU as Spider-Man. Besides the new trilogy, there is a chance that we will also see him in the upcoming Avengers movies or another non-Avenger project similar to Captain America: Civil War. For now, let’s just wait for more official news and updates regarding Holland’s inevitable MCU future.
