This isn’t the first time Uncle from Another World got delayed. The show also got a two-week delay in early August for the same reason. This time is different though as there is no confirmation yet on when the series will resume production. Given the schedule, the delay is one month long at the minimum. Though based on the statement, the show will continue and will not be canceled because of these production setbacks. Uncle from Another World (or Isekai Ojisan in Japanese) is an isekai anime by Atelier Pontdarc that is based on the ongoing manga series of the same name by Hotondoshindeiru. The ongoing manga is serialized in ComicWalker by Kadokawa Shouten, and it began back in June 2018. The story begins with Takafumi Takaoka, a college student who picks up his uncle who had just awakened from a long coma. His uncle was put into a coma 17 years ago after being hit by a truck and soon stays with Takafumi in his apartment. Soon, Takafumi discovers that his uncle has magical abilities which he picked up when he was sent to another world during his coma. Because of this, Takafumi helps his uncle in readjusting to modern society, all while watching his memories from his time in the fantasy world. Right now, there’s no word yet on when the series will return.
