Yukimura revealed this information in a recent interview with Comic Natalie. The interview was about the upcoming second season of the anime. Interestingly, the interview also featured Attack on Titan creator, Hajima Isayama. While the two discussed a wide range of topics, one of the highlights of the interview was the talk about Vinland Saga’s conclusion. Specifically, Yukimura was asked about the roadmap of the series’ story. He then revealed that there’s not much in terms of roadmaps left as the series is “not too far from the final chapter.” He further detailed that the roadmap for the series was created even before serialization started. While there have been changes over the years, the manga is officially heading to its conclusion. While the series’ end is on the horizon, Yukimura has not revealed any specific ending date for the Vinland Saga manga. Given this, it can still take some years before the end, especially given the current state of events in the story. Vinland Saga is an anime series that’s based on the manga of the same name by Makoto Yukimura. The manga is serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine and has been ongoing since April 2005. The series follows Thorfinn, a young boy who is on a quest for revenge on his father’s killer. When he was a child, Thorfinn’s father was killed by the pirate Askeladd. Soon though, Thorfinn joins Askeladd’s crew. There, he constantly challenges his father’s killer while serving as the crew’s scout and assassin. The anime’s first season was animated by Wit Studio, and it aired from July to December 2019. Meanwhile, the second season is in production by MAPPA. Vinland Saga Season 2 is expected to premiere in January 2023.
