Wednesday is part of the legendary Addams Family, created by the cartoonist Charles Addams. The Addams first appeared in The New Yorker as a single-panel cartoon portraying humorous scenes. The comic had a total of 150 panels and appeared in the publication for over 50 years. The Addams have had many adventures since then, starring in award-winning musicals, animated shows, and various films. The most famous iterations of the comic may be two feature films, The Addams Family, released in 1991, and the sequel The Addams Family Values, released in 1993. The latest films about the family were the 2019 animated film The Addams Family and the sequel released by 2021.
