READ MORE: Jenna Ortega Receives First Golden Globe Nomination for Wednesday
Considering that this is the second time Ortega has been envisioned as being part of the DC Universe, with the first being reimagined as the Green Lantern, Jessica Cruz, fans are quick to demand that she gets hired for the role. One fan even kept continuously tagging James Gunn for a potential project involving the Wednesday star. Check out some of the fan reactions to the Raven edit below:
While Teen Titans’ placement in the DC Universe has yet to be addressed by James Gunn and Peter Safran, it would seem that the DC Studios bosses have their plates full for now. Seeing as they are still undergoing some changes and restructuring of who is who and who is involved in the DC Universe, a Teen Titans project would have to wait.
Personally, I can see why fans are leaning on Jenna Ortega as Raven. With Jenna previously starring as the macabre teenager Wednesday Addams, there are a lot of similarities between her and the Teen Titan hero.
Both teenagers have superpowers, with Raven having the power to control and bend darkness and shadows and Wednesday having visions of death, both are also fond of being harshly blunt and seemingly unemotional characters who delve more on sarcasm as a response. But they mean well. Most of the time.
Meanwhile, you can watch all seasons of Titans (which is now in Season 4) on HBO Max, and Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday series on Netflix.
