According to Giant Freakin Robot, Wednesday and Scream star Jenna Ortega is reportedly in talks to play the White Tiger in Daredevil: Born Again. They claimed that her potential MCU debut during the series will lead to her own solo project later on. The report was also backed by Murphy’s Multiverse and they indicated that they heard from sources as well that the character is likely getting introduced during the series. However, they didn’t mention whether Ortega is actually being eyed for the role or any other casting that is being discussed.
We do have to take note that this news has not been confirmed yet by Marvel nor reported by the major trades so we have to take it with a grain of salt for now. As the series is heading to production soon, it is likely that we’ll hear some potential confirmation about this down the line. If Ortega does end up getting cast in the series, it is an exciting prospect for the actress and the MCU since she is one of the rising stars at the moment and it seems inevitable that she’ll get attached to a big franchise. This could also be a career boost for the actress since the White Tiger is a major role. However, it should also be pointed out that Ortega already made her MCU appearance in the past when she played the daughter of the Vice President in Iron Man 3. If she gets cast in the series, it will mark her second MCU role. For now, let’s just wait and see whether this scoop will end up being true.
