Who is Spider in Avatar: The Way of Water?
Spider is the adopted human child of Jake Sully and Neytiri. As introduced by Jake in the first minutes of Avatar: The Way of Water, Spider is a child born in Pandora and grew up in the same lab that the human allies of the Na’vi are working in. Jake even noted that he’s too young to be sent back to Earth in cryotherapy. Being a child, too, Spider is always bonding with the children of Jake and Neytiri, but he is closest to Kiri, the child of Dr. Grace, and they usually bond together as a group. When another human saw Spider, he claims Spider is feral and thinks he is one of the Na’vi. Jake considers his as his son as well. Jack Champion plays Spider in Avatar: The Way of Water. The young actor made a short appearance in Endgame as the child who was riding a bike that Scott Lang asked what year is it. Champion is poised to return in the next two Avatar films.

Who Are The Real Parents of Spider in Avatar: The Way of Water?
While he is Jake and Neytiri’s adopted child, it was revealed in Avatar: The Way of Water that Spider’s name is actually Miles, like that of his father. Yes, he is the child of Colonel Miles Quaritch who personally confirmed that he is the father of Spider in various conversations. Quaritch even claimed he wasn’t the best father, at all. The Quaritch that everyone meets in Avatar: The Way of Water isn’t exactly the same one that appeared in Avatar. The Na’vi one that is in the sequel only has the memories and psyche of Quaritch per se, the human version is really dead, he even quashed his skull. While his mother wasn’t revealed in Avatar: The Way of Water, the graphic novels that James Cameron released has this information. There, it provides the details on Spider being born in Hell’s Gate, the first colony of humans in Pandora, in the year 2154. His mother’s name is Paz Socorro, a member of the colony who is a Scorpion pilot, and Colonel Quaritch slept with her. While they didn’t have a real relationship, that moment resulted to a child, Spider. Whether Spider’s backstory would be revealed in future Avatar movies is still a question yet to be answered, and hopefully, it happens.
