Why Is Yuta Okkotsu Trying to Kill Yuji Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen?
The Shibuya Incident Arc was an intense event that Nanani, who was known as a first-grade sorcerer, died. Even Nobara was intensely injured and Toge lost one of his arms. Knowing all of these, Yuta decided to step in and be Yuji’s executioner to put a stop to Sukuna’s rampage. Yuta arrives on the scene wherein the two great sorcerers fight off. Yuta, with his improved skills and abilities, was able to “kill” Yuji and finishes his role. What manga readers did not expect is that Yuji is not dead at all. Instead, Yuta reveals that everything was an act as Gojo tasked him to look over Yuji. The higher-ups won’t let Yuta save Yuji so he came out as if he wanted Yuji to die instead. The only way the higher-ups would agree to that is if Yuta went into a Binding Vow with them. Yuta did a reverse cursed technique to seem like Yuji’s heart stopped, accomplishing his vow with the higher-ups. This makes Yuji’s death sentence complete. The two talked more about how they are similar, especially in terms of having a massive power that they couldn’t handle. This made the two a lot closer than before to the point that Yuji confessed that he has eaten 15 of Sukuna’s fingers already and that the King of Curses has something planned for Megumi.
