Hellbound is written and directed by Yeon Sang-Ho. It was based on the popular webtoon called Hell.
Does Hellbound Have a Season 2?
As of this writing, Netflix still hasn’t revealed its decision whether to renew or cancel Hellbound. But considering the show went on to become a top watched series. On its first week alone, Hellbound earned 43,480,000 hours of viewing time by subscribers around the world. This allowed the show to soar to the top spot of the global TV Non-English chart. The show continued to be part of the Non-English TV list for the next month, which allowed it to earn a total of 142.85 million viewing hours. With these numbers, it’s possible that Netflix will be compelled to renew the show for a second installment. And with its Netflix Tudum event coming up in September, we’ll likely get to know more about their decision on the fate of the show. It’s official! Netflix has confirmed that Hellbound will return for a second season at its Tudum event.
When Will Hellbound Season 2 Be On Netflix?
Since the show has not yet been confirmed, we can’t tell for sure when it will make its premiere on Netflix. We will need to wait for Netflix to make the announcement before making a guess on when we can expect the show to be released.
To recall, the first season made its debut on the streaming giant on November 19, 2021 with only six episodes. If Hellbound does get renewed for a second season, we could see the show be released with a similar format and the same number of episodes. We’re silently hoping that the show will get released before 2022 ends. But at this point, it may already be a little late for the show to follow this release schedule. If Netflix announces the renewal at its Tudum event, the show may be released by 2023. We’ll update this post once more information is released.
